Nate Chinen: Playing Changes part 2
Nate Chinen’s Playing Changes highlights the ideological, technological, theoretical, and practical changes that jazz musicians have learned to navigate since the turn of the century. Tonight's presentation features a conversation with musician, presenter and Constellation founder Mike Reed. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Chinen spent a dozen years covering jazz for The New York Times and helmed a long-running column for JazzTimes. Since 2017, he has been the director of editorial content at WBGO, working with the multiplatform program Jazz Night in America and contributing a range of coverage to NPR Music. An eleven-time winner of the Helen Dance–Robert Palmer Award for Excellence in Writing, presented by the Jazz Journalists Association, he is also coauthor of Myself Among Others: A Life in Music, the 2003 autobiography of impresario George Wein.
