As a specialist in contemporary performance practice and techniques, flutist Shanna Gutierrez is dedicated to promoting and advancing contemporary music in cultural life today through innovative performance formats. This program is no exception and explores differing combinations and expressions of visual elements and sound. The program moves seamlessly between older works and premieres of pieces which present ideas of the performer as a sound installation and/or scenic actor through very different stylistic approaches.
